We believe that all people are deeply loved by God, especially children. Our great desire is to help children know and experience this amazing love that comes through Jesus Christ. And so, here at Aldersgate, we are on a mission to create an intentional community of faith where children can Connect, Grow and Serve as they learn to love and follow Jesus. We follow our Safe Sanctuary Policy that requires all persons directly involved with children, teenagers and vulnerable adults to be screened, receive special training and pass a background check. This policy addresses concerns like classroom management, photography, and communication.
Please come as you are, knowing that there is a place for your children to experience the mystery and wonder of God through Jesus. Children begin with their parents/ adults in the Sanctuary and are invited to Children’s Message upfront if they like. Next the children are invited to KidzConnect, located on the lower level. Wonders of Worship bags are also available for children to use in the sanctuary if they choose. Parents are then able to pick up their children from the KidzConnect room after worship.
Children are invited to join their friends (and make new ones) for a special tie of learning to love and encounter God! This time is for children Ages 4 and up, to experience God through playful worship games, bible story, prayer, art and breakout groups. The children meet their teacher after Children’s Message. Throughout the year, a variety of bible stories and themes are covered in age-appropriate ways.
No, not right now. We are focusing on offering a great KidzConnect experience. Occasionally throughout the year we offer small groups where children can focus going a little deeper in faith exploration. Look for these opportunities – KidzGrow, Roots
Our nursery is staffed with adults who look forward each week to caring for our youngest friends and their families! We welcome infants and toddlers through age 3. Upon checking your child into the Nursery, you can leave a phone number where you may be reached. You are welcome to pack a snack if you wish. Staff are equipped and trained for diaper changes and bathroom assistance if needed.
We understand that the church functions best when community is strong. Therefore, we have many opportunities to connect, grow and serve for children and their families such at Trunk or Treat, Living Nativity, Family Gathering Table, KidzNight Out, Children’s Christmas Eve Service, Easter Egg Hunt and more.
Yes! Children are invited to share their gifts alongside their parents/adults. That might mean serving as a greeter or delivering groceries or supporting a local non-profit.
Usually Vacation Bible School (VBS) happens for one week in June. Children start by learning some praise songs and then travel through various stations including bible story, games, crafts and scripture learning. The week is packed with so much fun!! Many children come from the nearby community to be part of our special week.
Yes!! The best option is to start with Aldersgate 101, a 3-session pastor-led class that helps explain the basics of the Christian faith. Other options include a variety of Life Groups and bible studies, (or even starting a new one). Look under GROW to learn more.
