House Church: a NEW Gathering Table (Thursdays at 6:30pm):
Are you longing for spiritual community? A place you can explore life and make meaning together with others in light of God? Whether it’s a dining room table or a coffee table, we believe that something wonderful happens when people come to the table just as they are. And so, we’d love for you to come and join us sometime and see if House Church could be a good fit for you. Family Gathering Table (Sept 15, Oct 20, Nov 17, and Dec 15, from 5:00-6:30 pm)
What is it? I’m glad you asked.
It’s the model that Jesus used with his disciples. Gather for a shared meal, experience the presence of Christ in table fellowship among family, and learn how to live as a follower of Jesus. So that is what we hope to do “family-style”. This could be a great way for your family to be in spiritual community if Sunday mornings don’t work for you.
The meal: 5:00-5:30 pm
As we gather for the meal, each table group will be invited to have a conversation or a simple activity while sitting together. Each month will have a theme. Sept (Jesus as Teacher). October (Jesus as Lord), November (Jesus as Friend), December (Jesus as Savior). This won’t be super structured but will offer a theme/ topic/ framework for the evening. We generally plan to meet in the Reed Room. And we’ll need to start promptly at 5pm.
Food will be provided through a sign-up genius, potluck style based on a ‘bar-style’ meal. For example, a pasta, potato, and taco bar. (Many people have food allergies and sensitivities to be cognizant of. Each table will also have an empty seat to help us be mindful of who we can invite who may not have a place to belong yet to join us.
The ‘Grow’ groups: 5:40-6:30 pm
Next, participants will be invited to a ‘Grow’ time based on age or interest.
“Grow” Groups include groups for:
- Nursery
- Children in 3rd grade and younger
- Roots 4th and 5th Graders
- Youth Group: Middle School and High School
- Faithful Families: Parents Group
- Adult Group
